The Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev has been hospitalized after a serious accident on her e-bike. 

The 35-year-old shared a photo of herself sprawled out in a hospital bed with a cast on her knee and a neck brace.

She also posted a photo of herself posing happily on the bike, which seemed to have been taken shortly before the accident. 

'How it started vs how it's going,' she captioned the two photos. 

She then posted a selfie from her hospital bed, before sharing a statement about the accident with her 25million followers.

'I'm ok but it's going to be a long road of recovery ahead,' she wrote, followed by a bandaged heart emoji.

Dobrev received an outpouring of support from her fans and celebrity friends, which included actress Kayla Ewell and Claire Holt, stylist Kate Young, and dancer Julianne Hough.

Dailymail.com has contacted Dobrev's management for comment.  

The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress is currently in a relationship with former professional snowboarder Shaun White.

Interestingly, White recently praised Dobrev's adventure skills. 

'She's really good on the board,' he told E! News. 'She grew up in Canada. So, it was nice 'cause that's definitely sometimes a relationship make-or-break. Not if they can't ride, but I've had people come up with me and it didn't end well 'cause I'm not the best coach at times.' 

The couple first met during a brief encounter at an awards show in 2012, but they wouldn't be formally introduced to each other until seven years later at a Florida workshop organized by motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

'I actually didn't know anything about her,' White revealed to People magazine at the time.

They proceeded to start dating but didn't go Instagram official until April 2020.

Last year, the couple bought a $4.3million midcentury modern house in Los Angeles together.

White is five-time Olympian and a three-time Olympic gold medalist in half-pipe snowboarding. 

The sports star debuted his Max docuseries Shaun White: The Last Run last July.

During the promotion of the series, he called his partner 'incredible.'

'She’s just been so supportive and having her in my corner for this chapter in my life where I’m retired and looking for what’s next,' he told Extra at the time.

Along with The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev has also starred in the series Degrassi: The Next Generation. 

Some of her best known films include Flatliners and XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
